These photos are a digital false color infrared photography technique, stemming from an interest in how to replicate the look of Kodak Aerochrome infrared film (green foliage appears pink), by taking filtered bandpass images, color channel swapping, then stacking them. To do this, I use a tripod to take three separate photos with different filters on a monochromatic camera for each. The first photo has a green, yellow, and IR cut filter (500-600 nm); second has red and IR cut filter (600-700 nm); and third has an infrared filter (720+ nm). To make it false color, the first photo becomes the blue channel, second photo becomes the green channel, and the third photo (infrared) becomes the red channel. Because it is three separate photos that are stacked, with some time in-between while the filters are physically switched, any scene movements are shown simultaneously by different colors.
